The problem: One in four renters pays more than 50 percent of household income in rent and utilities, according to Habitat-NYC.
Habitat’s solution: Families become first-time homeowners with Habitat’s help. In return, homeowners work side by side with volunteers and pay low mortgages that go to fund future Habitat projects.
