Photographers come home to The Point

An exhibit of 26 photographs showcasing alumni of ICP at The Point’s photography program opened on March 20 and will be on view until through the summmer at the community center at 940 Garrison Avenue.

Called Vantage Point 16, the show includes the work of college students and graduates, teachers and artists, community activists and administrators, all of whom have all taken lessons in photography at The Point. The photographers were not limited in their selection of subjects or themes.

Many artists were on hand to discuss their pieces as they posed happily along side their art. As viewers mingled with the photographers, supermodel Naomi Campbell stopped to admire the pictures and compliment their artists on her way to read to children at The Point.

The exhibit, which is housed in the entrance hallway of The Point, will stay up until at least the end of summer.
