Hunts Point Riverside Park will be the site of a free tree giveaway on Sunday, March 30, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Sustainable South Bronx is partnering with the New York Restoration Project and the MillionTreesNYC initiative to make the trees available to anyone who agrees to three conditions:
- To plant in one of the five boroughs.
- To keep trees properly watered and maintained.
- Not to plant along streets, in containers, terraces, balconies or on roofs.
Trees can be reserved through New York Restoration, the non-profit founded by actress Bette Midler, by visiting www.nyrp.org/BronxTrees.
