Residents in every corner of the Bronx are being encouraged to participate in the borough’s first-ever “well being” survey, to measure the opinions of those who live and work in the Bronx about a variety of issues.
Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. launched the survey in order to find out what Bronxites say are their most pressing concerns. Respondents are being asked to comment on matters ranging from the availability of fresh food to education and crime and safety.
After all the results are in, one Bronx resident who completes the survey will be picked at random to have brunch with the Borough President and let him know what he or she thinks.
But only 39 applications have been filled out and submitted so far to Community Board 2. That number puts Hunts Point and Longwood dead last among the 12 Bronx community boards. Residents are urged to make their voices heard by going online to fill in the survey at http://bronxboropres.nyc.gov/press/releases/2011-08-24.html.
