Some of the teens who meet at The Point to advocate for environmental justice.

A group of 15 students from the ACTION youth development program, or Activists Coming to Inform Our Neighborhood, sat down with reporter Daniel Allen for a frank discussion about their experiences growing up around the peninsula.
Headquartered at The Point, the group seeks to transform their community through environmental activism.
The students were frank. They discussed their encounters with street violence, schools that employ metal detectors and childhood asthma, but they also said Hunts Point gets a bad rap. They see a community filled with potential for the future.
