Two shows open gallery’s spring season

The Bronx River Art Center will kick off its spring season on May 4 by opening two solo exhibits by artists Debra Priestly and Eleanor Dubinsky. The exhibits will be on view through June 9 at the gallery, 1087 East Tremont Avenue, in the West Farms section.

In Gallery 1, Priestly’s work uses photographic imagery to tell stories about African American history and her personal history.

Dubinsky’s TRANSIT, a video installation, interweaves the artist’s own travels with the migration of people throughout the world. The work will move from Gallery 2 into the neighborhood around the Bronx Art Center through a series of improvised dance performances.

Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 3 p.m.- 6:30p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
